Experimental culinary photography

I am constantly working on improving my skills at food photography. Today, I finally put together a light box that has many of the needed elements (cheap, collapsable, flexible, easy to use, correct lighting profiles, not too hot inside). I am still working on shadows, tho I rather like these.

Let me know if you like them or drop some constructive criticism.

These pictures are stunning. I’m especially loving the green onion roots.

Can I ask you to say a word or two about your lightbox and how you use it?

mzn: thanks for your kind words. Those onions are really amazing for macro work.

I put a shot of the light box at the bottom of this post (above these comments). It looks more like a light closet LOL! where I enclosed the object to be shot between two white cardboards and played with the lighting.

I dont use that anymore as I have rigged a more proper light box (cardboard box with bottom cut out and covered with white fabric and use a tungsten lightbulb.) This latter box gives a warmer and softer light. (pics using that are in more recent posts like the creme puffs)
