Puff pastry, bacon, basil, cream cheese, and scallions
Ingredients:
Pastry Dough (thawed)
Cream cheese + fresh scallions
Basil leaves
Cooked bacon
Egg wash
1 egg
pinch of salt
1 Tablespoon water
Directions:
Egg wash: make 30 minutes before use.
Beat egg, add salt and water, incorporate.
Set aside in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Pastries:
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Roll thawed pastry out slightly.

Cut dough into desired shapes. In this case that is two long rectangles. Cut a rectangular hole out of one of the rectangles.
Dock (cut) interior of whole rectangular piece, score edges, brush with egg wash around the edges.

Place the edging from the second pastry rectangle on the whole piece of pastry, egg wash entire piece (including the part cut from the second triangle), allow to chill in refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
Bake until golden.

Mix sliced scallions and cream cheese, spread into the interior of the pastry.
Lay bacon and basil leaves on top of cream cheese.
Add small rectangle to top.
Eat right away.
Enjoy!
