Gluten Free Woodchuck Amber Draft Cider
Posted on Feb 03 in drink, gluten, Local Food, product, reviewby NikaPrint

I was visiting our local liquor store, Yankee Spirits (FAR more than just a liquor store.. if you ever even come NEAR Sturbridge you need to stop in for a huge selection of wine, spirits, and beer, just HUGE), and saw this store-printed sign saying “Gluten Free ciders” and it mentioned Woodchuck Draft Ciders. I had to get it and try it.
It is an effervescent, light and refreshing cider. Its definitely a nice change from other mealtime alcohol options. If you are interested in exploring gluten free alcoholic drinks, definitely give this a try.
I was struck by the fact that I never thought about gluten being an ingredient of a beer or drink. It seems that gluten is an ingredient in many things you would never suspect. There are many resources on the web for consciousness raising around gluten as a widespread ingredient, I could not list them all. I think I will hold off on expounding on gluten in this post because I want to focus on this product. I will save gluten as an ingredient for another day. If you would like to find blogs on the topic of gluten free eating try this google search.
I can recommend a few blogs like this really quick:

I love hard cider! I’ve tried the Woodchuck before but it’s been a long time. I dated a guy once who was diagnosed with celiac disease and it was really eye-opening to find out how many things contain gluten!
Nicole: yeah, its not until you have a certain dietary restriction that you realize how hard it is! When we found out my oldest daughter has severe nut allergies it was scary to learn how so many foods have hidden nut products. Its got to be a whole lot worse for gluten and other basic ingredients. She is EXTREMELY allergic to dog saliva but thats easy to avoid, not the nuts.
In fact, she spent the night in Children’s Hospital in Boston last night with anaphylactic shock .. after all these years, something slipped by and it sure was scary. Thankfully she and my husband were right by Childrens, simply the best place they could have been for this problem.
I do not have any food intolerances other than this very serious problem – I eat and I gain weight. Have not been able to fix that problem yet! Cant go cold turkey.
I’m guessing you’ll understand spanish, if it is not inform me and I’ll try to trnaslate to English..
