Woe is my kohlrabi

Sure, he looks beautiful, almost as if he were a cloisonné broach. Look at those fantastic little hairy tufts along his back bottom area. Look how a tiny droplet of water sits on his surreal pink carapace.

In his case, he is beauty AND the beast.

Not a noble golden scarab, that is a Japanese beetle that decided to eat some of my juvenile kohlrabi plants. For this crime, he has met with a dark moment that I manufactured with a sharp stick.
