The evidence is slowly accumulating that organic food is more nutritious than conventionally grown food. The latest study indicating that organic food is better was funded by the European Union. The 27 million dollar, four year project was conducted at several sites across Europe. The co-ordinator of the research, Carlo Leifert, said the health benefits were so noticeable that eating organic food instead of conventionally grown food provides, in essence, an extra measure of vegetables and fruit each day. He noted that “if you have just 20 percent more antioxidants in every portion of vegetables, then it’s simply a question of maths – eating four portions of organic fruit and vegetables is the equivalent to eating five portions of traditional fruit and vegetables”.

thank you, dear nika. that's quite disturbing to know. we do sense a huge difference in texture and flavour between our organically homegrown veggies and regular store-bought.

as for organic store-bought, i'm not so sure.
