Update on Baby Oh: Progress!

Our Baby Oh is growing up!

You may remember my mentioning in a previous post (Baby Oh: 1 in 94) that Baby Oh (Toddler Oh now) was diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum.

He is getting ABA therapy (autism) and he has made ENORMOUS strides in the past 3 weeks. He has gone from nonverbal to spontaneous whole sentences.

Amongst other things, today we tackled bath time (water). Baby Oh was able to overcome his fears! He LOVED it. I didnt include the naked shots (didnt shoot any naked) but he got the full experience!

In recent times, Oh would have a fit with water and erupt in massive fountains of puke at bath time. Today we made HUGE gains – took 2 ABA therapists you see in the set above.

100% water, 0% puke, 100% fun!

ABA therapists are the child whisperers, they are angels.

These are priceless! You almost got play-by-play action. You mean to tell me he went further and took a bath?

I actually held my breath while going through the pictures. Simply amazing. What a milestone…for you and him!

    Take care.

J: Thank you for being excited for us! He sat DOWN in the water (clothed!) and then I stripped him down – no soap.. tomorrow AM am going to try with soap in this blue tub in the bathtub (less mess) – we will see what happens… tomorrow afternoon when our ABA person comes again – we will talk about what happens tomorrow AM and work on those new challenges!

That’s wonderful! How exciting. I was hopeful for you since I had that student whose mom had told me about the wonderful progress he made with early intervention.

    And what a beautiful child!

That’s wonderful! I just attended an ABA training session, I wish I could apply some it’s principles with my students, but it’s hard in the public school setting.

We had similar struggles with our first born. Took lots of time working with him to make bath time ok. Now, he is ok with baths, but not so much on the showers!

Do you have goats? Maybe you can make him some fresh soap in a really cool shapes.
